Sustainability

At VOL, our corporate mandate is to grow responsibly with a deep sensitivity for people and the planet.

At VOL, we understand our duties as a leading corporate citizen. That is why our plants promote economic growth in a safe, secured and environmentally responsible way. We also encourage our customers, suppliers and businesses with whom we work to do the same.

We are committed to protect the health and safety of our employees, preserve the environment and conserve natural resources.

We believe that by acting thoughtfully and sharing responsibility, we integrate the broader meaning of the word ‘sustainability’ into every aspect of our business.

Our constant pursuit has been to remain keen on being excellent stewards of the environment, as we believe this is the only way to achieve long-term economic success.

Green Practices

At VOL, we are committed to the environment and the use of clean and green technologies. We have invested considerable time and energy in ensuring that both our plants emit zero-effluents.

We have invested in cutting-edge equipment and infrastructure to treat waste on the one hand, and enhance operating efficiency on the other. Our primary objective is to minimise effluent generation at the source. To achieve this, we recycle the residual streams and organic wastes. As a result, our world-class plants satisfy statutory and customer audits, strengthening their confidence in our ability to provide products in a clean and sustainable way. Our plants are certified for the Environmental Management System standard ISO 14001.

CSR Initiatives

We work to empower and nurture rural communities near our facilities, helping them obtain self-sufficiency in natural resource management, livelihood support and setting up of health and education infrastructure. The following provides an insight into our key roles:

  • Motivating meritorious students through an awards system
  • Encouraging education of girl child by donating uniforms and other educational aids
  • Participating in programmes organised by local panchayats
  • Providing direct and indirect employment opportunities to local people
  • Imparting technical skills to people belonging to the marginalised sections of the society
  • Improving healthcare facilities and organising regular blood donation camps
  • Maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety at all our production units

HSE Initiatives

We strive to enrich the lives of people around the world - both today and tomorrow. We are committed to all processes encompassing manufacturing, handling, transport and the safe disposal of our products. Moreover, we ensure that our stakeholders -customers, carriers, suppliers, distributors and contractors also comply with all safety and environmental procedures.

It is our pursuit to adopt safe, injury free and environmentally responsible business practices. This includes informing the public in a timely manner regarding the safety of chemicals, as well as manufacturing chemical products that do not endanger the human ecosystem.
