How Is it Manufactured?
Methyl 4 tertiary butyl benzoate is synthesized by different methods. It can be produced by the oxidation of a liquid phase solvent like acetic acid. Another method is high-temperature gas-phase oxidation. Here, p-tert-butyl toluene is oxidized at a high temperature in the presence of a catalyst to yield Methyl 4 tert butyl benzoate. It can also be synthesized from p-tert-butyl toluene using nitric acid.
