The amine salts are used as an oil additive to improve performance and prevent rust. The metal salts of 4 tert butyl benzoic acid are used with Alkali metals like potassium, magnesium, calcium and barium as PVC heat stabilizers’, antifreeze and corrosion inhibitors, lubricants, abrasives, paints and coating industries.
∙ 4- tert- Butyl benzoic Acid is used in the synthesis of Arylboronic Acids as dual-action FAAH and TRPV1 ligands. As well, used in the preparation of cellular chemical probes targetting PRC1 (polycomb repressive complex 1) for prostate cancer cells.
∙ PTBBA is used in the automobile industry to manufacture fuel tank linings and anti-corrosion coatings. Fuel tanks are made of steel or aluminium which corrode easily when exposed to water or other liquids.
